Congratulations to Central Carroll's 8th Grade Boys' Basketball team. They made it to the tournament finals and earned the runner-up trophies.

Welcome! Basketball Season 2012-13 is done! Thanks to everyone for another great season!

The Central Carroll (formerly Sandymount) Basketball program, #BAS101, is run by the Central Carroll Recreation Council, Finksburg, MD, and runs from November through March. This co-ed recreation basketball program provides an opportunity for more than 280 boys and girls, grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, to learn the fundamentals of basketball while having fun. An entirely in-house program played in the Sandymount and Mechanicsville Elementary Schools gymnasiums, our volunteers coach 28 teams in four age-group divisions. Our program goals are clearly stated and begin with providing a FUN experience for our players and their families.

Basketball Program GOALS

The Central Carroll Rec. Basketball program provides an opportunity for boys and girls grades Kindergarten through 9th grade, to learn the fundamentals of basketball while having fun. We have enumerated four general goals for the program and specific goals within the general goals for each of the age-group divisions.

Picture Day 2013! Saturday, January 19th, 2013

The Central Carroll Basketball program works with Pictures-R-Us each year to provide professional photographs for our youth basketball family.

Team and individual pictures are taken on Picture Day. We try to set your photo shoot time for just before or just after your game time. Pictures are taken in the Sandymount Elementary School cafeteria, adjacent to the gymnasium.

Game Schedule

Games begin during the first weekend of January each year. Each game runs for one hour (playing time of 40:00 minutes). The game start time slots are:

At Sandymount Elementary School (SES)

• Saturday 9am, 10am, 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm

At Mechanicsville Elementary School (MES)

• Saturday 9am, 10am, 11am, noon, 1pm and 2pm

Division tournaments will take place in March 2012 with a possibility of weeknight playoff games.
